The Talking Baguette workshop has been devised to give Year 3 pupils the opportunity to practice and consolidate the French they have learnt during the early units of the Key Stage 2 QCA programme of study.
A fast-moving and fun 45 minute workshop for up to 60 Year 3 pupils. The multi-pronged learning experience motivates children to make confident use of the French they know, Activities are pitched to stimulate and involve children with a wide range of capabilities and different learning styles.
Depending when the workshop is held, vocabulary and learning outcomes are introduced to match the units covered ( Units 1,2 and 3) and preview the ones to come. |
One or two experienced actor/teachers, depending on the size of the group, present a lively non-stop combination of activities, interactive stories, songs and games, which work best in a school hall. The children meet Chantal, the French rag doll, and her friends Suzanne and Louis, who get up to all sorts of mischief. By the end of the session, children are joining in enthusiastically, using their French in a meaningful way to talk to these new friends. |
